Bar Walls of York, 2pm Thursday 17th. Feb

We started the new year with a discussion about the Bar Walls of York.

Knowing a bit more about the history of the walls will help enhance our understanding of the history of North Yorkshire and enhance any visit to York.

It was an opportunity to share memories and information

Update on programme for the year

The history group will restart 2pm Thursday February 17th.I don't think it is a good idea to meet this month thanks to Covid. I expect  that we will be in a better position for face to face meetings next month.

In addition to the monthly meetings (3rd Thursday afternoons) I have been discussing the possibility of setting up a u3a heritage trail to celebrate our 20th anniversary later this year. This will be a separate project involving Hambleton council and other key organisations in Easingwold. I will update you later on this.
